MENA InsurTech Leadership Adds Regional Insight to Sønr’s Beyond Boundaries 2025

The 2025 Beyond Boundaries Report, powered by Sønr in partnership with ITC Vegas, spotlights the Signal 50 and Scale 50 trailblazers transforming the global insurance landscape. The annual report showcases the companies and leaders redefining how insurance operates, scales, and delivers impact through technology, innovation, and collaboration.

Covering key trends across markets, the report explores how insurers, startups, and investors are driving change through AI, data, embedded finance, and digital-first models. It offers a comprehensive view of the forces shaping the future of insurance, from new product design to customer experience and sustainable growth.

As part of the report’s global analysis, Lars Gehrmann, Co-Founder and Head of MENA InsurTech and Group Chief Digital Officer at QIC, contributed insights on the evolving insurance innovation landscape across MENA. The region’s dual-speed growth, with rapid digital transformation in the Gulf and inclusion-led innovation across North Africa and the Levant, reflects how technology and local context combine to drive meaningful progress.

The report also highlights the rise of digital Takaful platforms, the spread of AI-enabled claims processing, and the growing role of regional venture investment in adapting global InsurTech solutions to local needs. As Gehrmann noted:

“Tech you find in the States, in Europe and the Middle East and Asia, it’s everywhere, and it’s quite similar in the end.”

The Beyond Boundaries 2025 Report reinforces how collaboration between insurers, venture investors, and technology innovators continues to accelerate transformation across the global insurance value chain, with MENA emerging as an increasingly active and influential player.
