Our participation at WebSummit Lisbon 2025 marked a significant moment as we delivered our highly anticipated Masterclass, “MENA: The Launchpad for Global InsurTechs & FinTechs.” The session attracted a full room of founders, innovators, investors, and global industry leaders eager to explore the region’s rising role in financial innovation.
The Masterclass highlighted Qatar’s innovation journey, showcasing how Qatar Insurance Group and QIC Digital Venture Partners are building a systematic venture-building ecosystem designed to accelerate transformation across insurance and financial services. Attendees were given an inside look into how structured innovation, partnerships, and strategic investments are enabling new digital business models to scale across MENA.
A key moment during the session was the preview of the MENA InsurTech & FinTech Summit 2026, featuring its full 360° program — including accelerator tracks, startup competitions, and cross-regional collaboration connecting MENA with Africa, LATAM, and Asia.
The audience also heard from the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council, which presented its “SMEs and Startups Grants Program” and introduced the InnoLight Program, aimed at supporting innovators in turning ideas into scalable ventures.
The Masterclass concluded with a dynamic panel discussion featuring experts from both Europe and the MENA region, who shared perspectives on how cross-border partnerships can drive growth and unlock new opportunities for InsurTech and FinTech players worldwide.
The strong engagement and turnout reinforced growing global interest in the region — and underscored the momentum behind MENA as an emerging hub for financial and technological innovation.
